Greenville Taco Trail Overview

October, 4th, 2022 | By GVLtasty

Greenville might already be well known for its hidden gems, ample parks, and award-winning Main St. — but this foodie hub is a destination all its own. An exciting newcomer to the heart of Greenville’s food landscape is the new Greenville Taco Trail, encompassing twelve hand-selected restaurants with offerings ranging from “genuine authentic” to “upscale modern”.

We can all agree that Greenville is starting to get a lot of “foodie” attention. It comes with the media exposure surrounding annual events like EuphoriaFall For Greenville, and the Tacos’ N Tequila Fiesta where tacos 🌮 (and Tequila!) are the highlights.

The focus has long been on staples like breakfast tacos, Greenville’s myriad of food trucks, and restaurant institutions like Papi’s Tacos and Willy Taco. While those greats continue to thrive, a new wave of modern establishments has diversified the landscape and made for a richer Mexican dining experience. VisitGreenvilleSC.com has done the hard work for you and narrowed the many selections to 12 great taco joints to try along the newly created Greenville Taco Trail. The selection criteria included customer reviews, word of mouth, authenticity, and accessibility.

They also created the Greenville Taco Trail Passport and Greenville Taco Trail Map to track your stops along the self-guided trail. Here’s how it’ll work: Guests will pick up a paper passport for the Taco Trail at the Visitor’s Center at City Hall, a participating restaurant, or print one at home from the website. Each participating restaurant will be given a code word. When customers order to check-in for the trail, they will ask for the code word & will add it to their passport. At the end, they will return their passport to the Visitor’s Center to win prizes along the way & for completing the trail.

The Greenville Taco Trail officially launched on October 4th, 2022, National Taco Day, making this the most significant Taco Tuesday of the year! The 12 restaurants initially taking part in the trail are listed below. If you plan to participate, tag #GVLTacoTrail & #YeahThatGreenville on your social posts to help spread the word, and in VGSC parlance, “Let’s Taco ‘Bout It”. Happy Taco-ing from GVLtasty!
