A contemporary American restaurant with Southern and International influences, Patterson, named to honor a branch of the Hartness family tree, is situated just by our meticulously manicured courtyard. Inspired by and featuring the bounty of the Upstate of South Carolina, we're not just a restaurant, but an experience. As hospitality consultant and chef John Malik wrote in his recent article, City Juice: The magnificence of Patterson Kitchen, "Only a few minutes from the buzz of Roper Mountain and Woodruff roads, one's arrival at Patterson Kitchen + Bar feels closer to a Bond villain's lair than a Greenville address...Chef Marino calmly orchestrates his confident brigade from a small open kitchen that is so cleverly designed, it's sure to bring every chef in town just to admire its composition."
Our cuisine focuses on bright, clean, and approachable menus, complimented by warm hospitality in a vibrant setting. Set beside a beautiful, tree-lined pond; our restaurant features window walls that can be opened to provide a memorable outdoor dining experience on a wrap-around porch. The heart of the restaurant is an exposition kitchen where our chefs prepare a variety of locally and regionally inspired menu items. Just a short walk from the main hotel through a beautifully manicured lawn, Patterson promises to be a place for refined Southern fare.
Adjacent to the Manor's Great Room, The Captain is a cozy gathering spot with a reclaimed barn wood-clad bar and a warm atmosphere. Patterson is now open, serving up the best of Southern and International cuisine, where tradition meets innovation. Malik praises, "A few courses into my meal, Chef Marino offered a miniature crab cake appetizer...The showstopper was a banana pudding that combined those well-known flavors and textures into a world-class dessert...That is the magnificence of Patterson Kitchen."
