A shared love for pastries led to the pairing of Bobby Daugherty and Melinda Vetro, taking charge of the Asheville branch of Old Europe Pastries in 2016. Daugherty, known for his dynamic career path that saw him in diverse roles, from playing Furman Football to dabbling in investment banking and road construction, brought a new lease of life to the pastry shop, doubling its sales within three years through expanded offerings and improved services. Daugherty's latest passion led him back to Greenville, where he launched Old Europe Desserts in 2019. Situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, South Carolina, the establishment presents an array of fresh pastries, exquisite macarons, and locally-sourced coffee. Plans are already underway to expand the offerings to include lunch options and introduce a wine bar, setting a new standard for dessert experiences in Greenville.
